Backup and restoration of Symantec Endpoint protection
Hi all, Please follow highlevel steps to backup and restore Symanec Endpoint Protection
oday I carried out AV server, disaster recovery for Hyderabad server and done successfully, I followed below steps (in brief) to achieve.
From the existing SEPM server
1) Backed up the DB.
2) Copied Key store file and server.xml file.
3) Copied Key store password
4) Locate Sylink.xml file (if we have one domain) and copy Domain ID from that file.
5) Taken down Encryption password, which I used to install SEPM.
6) Taken down the site name, host name and IP.
Created an image of windows 2003 with IIS, Installed SEPM MR4 on it (Use same encryption key).
1) Assign host name and IP as the original server
2) Configured SEPM server with the same settings which I done for the original server.
3) Restore server certificates from SEP manager. <Use key store file>
4) Restored DB
Now all my clients are communicating to new AV server.
